You can just buy the magic shrinky kind of gloves that are like 2 for $5 and snip off the fingertips. They don't seem to ravel as much as the other kinds (I used to need them to be able to light the fires and do boot bindings when I was a winter retreat coordinator at that camp during college). Otherwise, there's a great glove outlet just north of Milwaukee but south of Sheboygan (in Waldo, I think) that has thinsulate-lined wool gloves that are awesome. It's the only place I've found that has women's fingerless gloves that aren't ridiculous or too small.

instead of fingerless gloves i recommend glove liners. especially the Underarmour glove liners. i actually use those as gloves now.

I bought great fingerless gloves at Target that have also have a mitten part, that can come forward to cover the tips of your fingers, or fold back to rest on the back of your hand (and buttons or velcro sticks it there). They were pretty cheap too... The only thing is that they have a full thumb, which makes typing a titch harder - but still do-able.
